Lisa
Stewart's passion for jewelry stems from a diverse history of simple
observation. Having come from an extensive background in
fashion and costume design, she viewed the fickle world of trendy
accoutrement with a dubious eye. Lisa was inspired by the simplicity
of designers like Elsa Peretti and Paloma Picasso, as well as deriving
pleasure in the clean and modern lines of architecture. She combined
her knowledge of the fashion world with her aesthetic for simple,
unfettered elegance, and thus gave birth to her namesake line, Lisa
Stewart Jewelry.
The collection was launched in spring of 2004.
Since then, women of discriminating taste such as Nicole Richie,
Gisele Bundchen, Jennifer Lopez, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Halle
Barry, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ashlee Simpson have chosen to adorn
themselves with Lisa Stewart Jewelry, finding that the pieces complement
the wearer in a timeless and elegant way.
The pieces are a sophisticated mix of 18k gold vermeil and
semi precious stones, as well as some dark gunmetal and shiny silver
pieces, which reveal her ability to diversify her visions
into different media with a unique flexibility, while still keeping
true to her simplicity of form.
In 2004, Lisa Stewart was nominated for the prestigious
Gen Arts Fresh Faces in Fashion award by the editor of Angeleno
Magazine. Lisa Stewart continues to stay ahead of the pack,
always fresh and modern with her clean lines and reverence for simple
elegance. She prefers for the wearer to be adorned by her jewelry,
instead of the other way around. Her motto- "Dress up with jewelry,
but don't dress around it!"
Lisa Stewart's mission statement is to be a source of encouragement
to single career moms, and backs this up with her commitment to
charities that support women's causes. She is always looking
for ways to donate to charities; it is part and parcel of her 'raison
d'etre'. This is the kind of inspiring, courageous, dedicated, and
fashion savvy woman to keep your eye on; she's got the world by
the tail! Definitely, Lisa Stewart is one to watch. |
